Action and Adventure Films of the 70's
Many of the movies filmed in the 1970's were terrific films. Almost all of them were huge block busters, mostly due to the fact that people had never seen movies like these before and they were so original. That and many people of that time say that some of these movies best described life during the 70's. Today many of the action movies from the 70's have been remade and some have continued on the franchise of some specific movies.
The Godfather
The Godfather was and is still is the number one and number two movie for the 1970's out of all the hundreds of thousands of movies produced in that decade this movie has remained at the top. Thus being very impressive for a movie to remain so popular for a whole decade that is quite amazing. The Godfather is a violent film showing the true lives of mobsters and going deeper into their everyday life and family. Not only was it popular back in the 70's but still today The Godfather remains one of the best movies ever. Not very many movies stay so popular especially at number two and number three. Yet there are many more movies of the ages The Godfather will always be looked at as one of the best.
Star Wars
Star Wars is one of the most well known movies in both time periods. The original series had started in the 1970's but the end of the series ended in the 2000's making it one long saga. Having half of the movies made in one time period then the other half of the movies made in a completely different time period. This seems like it would make the series worse but they managed to make the movies connect minus the visual differences of when the movies where made the storyline follows well. Overall the movie is another big hit of both the generations. The older generations like the finish of the series and the younger generations enjoy seeing the original version and looking back on how much the movie has changed.
Rocky Balboa
The Rocky series was a highly inspirational set of movies. The first five movies of the series were all made throughout the 1970's and for a fictional boxer the movies did quite well. Along with many other movie franchises Rocky was started in the 70's but finished in the 2000's. Wrapping up the story of the great boxers' life it still keeps the high inspiration aspect in the movie. This series brought in a bunch of viewers being another big block buster of its time. And also had a high box office rating in the 2000's when rumors came out the sixth movie was coming out to finish the series
